Today, long time local attorney, Thomas W. Storey, announced he has filed his notice of intent to seek election to Imperial County Superior Court Office #3.
Storey, a lifelong resident of Imperial County, stated his experience as a former law enforcement officer with the Imperial County Sheriff’s Office, a former District Attorney, and his over 40 years of experience as an attorney make him uniquely qualified to be elected Judge.
Mr. Storey started as bailiff in 1970 and worked his way to sheriff’s sergeant prior to graduating from law school. He then transferred to the Imperial County District Attorney’s Office for two years as a Deputy District Attorney. Mr. Storey left the District Attorney’s Office and was in private practice until elected District Attorney of Imperial County in 1982. He served as District Attorney until 1986, when he returned to private practice. Mr. Storey has experience in all facets of the practice of law in trial courts. Mr. Storey has tried civil, criminal, family, juvenile and probate cases, all of which are areas a Superior Court Judge would preside over, including administrative law.
In addition to his involvement within the legal system, Mr. Storey has also been active in the community through his church, Amaris Ministries, and his membership in Holtville Rotary for over 24 years. Mr. Storey has provided free legal services to several local ministries, such as Turning Point Men’s Home, New Creations and others.
Mr. Storey makes one promise to the citizens of the Imperial County that is to be hardworking, caring and fair.
